If You've Decided Not to Order...
I don't blame you for being skeptical. In fact, I applaud your caution!
You don't know me from Adam. (This is what I look like, although I don't wear glasses anymore. LASIK surgery is awesome!)
And evidently you're just not sure that "The Insider's Guide to Shopping Online" will solve your online shopping problems, or answer your questions.
Here are a few of the questions I get asked. Maybe one of them will answer yours:
- "Can I really find what I want online?"
The people who ask this usually have the mistaken idea that pretty much all that's sold online is books or software or electronics. Geek-y stuff.
Wrong! Just about anything you can think of is sold online. Type a product into a search engine like Google (or Froogle, the online shopping search engine) and you'll see. There's something for everyone.
Amazon.com is even selling groceries now!
- "I don't know much about computers or the Internet. I'm afraid that ordering from a website will be too technical for me."
I'll be the first to admit that some website retailers haven't yet got their act together and made it truly SIMPLE. Remember, the concept of shopping online is still fairly new. Some websites are still a pain in the rear end to get around. A little patience goes a long way.
But most of the bigger, more established websites make it very easy to shop online. The sites are clearly labeled, there are instructions on exactly what to do next and you can even "chat" directly with customer service if you have a question.
Give it a try at a well-run site like Amazon.com and you'll see. These folks KNOW that their site has to be convenient and understandable for the average consumer or they're out of business.
- "But still - is it SAFE? You hear all these stories..."
Yes you do - but people are ripped off in store parking lots, too. You've got to be careful, sure. I'll explain all that, and also recommend a few websites where you can go to learn more about online safety.
Still, think again about sites like Amazon.com or Buy.com. Both are hugely profitable - and neither one has a physical, brick-and-mortar store AT ALL. They've invested a great deal of money and a great deal of research into making absolutely sure that shopping online is as safe for you as it can be.
If people were getting ripped off at their websites, they'd be out of business by now!
- Can I really save money?
I hope the examples I've given - all real, all recent - have convinced you of that. There's really no way you can NOT save money if you do even a few of the things I recommend, or visit a few of the sites I mention!
| "I just saved more than $94 on one order! I would never have known about this method of finding sales if I hadn't read your book. What I saved on my very first order is more than what I paid for the guide. Thank you, Diana, this is awesome!" Deb Bailey, Kansas City, MO |
- "I'm still just not sure."
If there's a specific question I haven't answered, email me and let me know.
